ESU is rolling out to all Windows 10 devices that are running Windows 10, version 22H2 starting with Windows Insiders.
See the Enroll in ESU section of https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-consumer-extended-security-updates-esu-program-33e17de9-36b3-43bb-874d-6c53d2e4bf42
My takeaway is that Microsoft is baiting people with the 'free' offer contingent on enabling Windows Backup, knowing that for most people they will end up paying for the needed space on OneDrive.
If you have any experience with OneDrive, you will know it's way less hassle, cheaper and safer to just to buy the ESU. Go sell blood or panhandle or whatever, but scrape up the $30 and save yourself the headaches of OneDrive.
