Our recently purchased Win 11 laptop went through a regular update, but also gave us the bitlocker key request. We do not see the bitlocker key under our email, do we have to reinstall windows, can we save some files?

    Thanks for the screenshot.

First of all, on your new Windows 10 install, go to Control Panel > Bitlocker, disable it first.

Then on a different computer if you have access, download this wifi driver: https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/ur...

And then download this BIOS: https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/em...

Transfer them via a flash drive for example, to install them on your computer.

Then try to see if wifi is back on and if you can now upgrade to 11.

Note: This is not Microsoft website/URL, but it is the official OEM/manufacturer site.

Thank you for the reply, since my last response, we have been in contact with Lenovo and they were able to send us the link for the Windows 11 files with all the drivers used when the laptop was built, works similar to the creation tool.

We just finished the setup and we used the one email of the laptop's primary user to finalize the setup. We then logged in to the Microsoft account and we see the laptop under devices, but when we try to get the bitlocker key just so we have it in case we come across this again, we see there is no bitlocker data.

The laptop is now running Windows 11, the wifi works, but we cannot download TPM 2.0. The bitlocker function is turned off, does not show in BIOS, and when this problem originated, Microsoft performed an update and the laptop asked for the bitlocker key but was not available....we don't want to revisit this.

How do we get our bitlocker data and do we even need it? Will the next update bring us back to a near "bricked" state again?

I’m glad Lenovo has been helpful with the driver support.

Can you type winver in the search on the taskbar and press enter. When it’s launched is it running home edition or pro?

Well, they have been "somewhat" helpful. I'm back at square 1 with regards to my bitlocker key data.

We have Win 11, ver 24H2 OS Build 26100.2894

Our issue (I think) is we have AMP PSP 11.0 and Microsoft Pluton Processor as our only 2 security devices, not TPM 2.0.

TPM 2.0 s in the "Add Hardware" but does not load.

Without TPM 2.0, we cannot get a bitlocker code correct?
