Our recently purchased Win 11 laptop went through a regular update, but also gave us the bitlocker key request. We do not see the bitlocker key under our email, do we have to reinstall windows, can we save some files?

You need to delete all of the partitions, one at a time, they will then merge into one unallocated space. Choose that and continue .

Should I format the drive? It says It cannot be installed on any of the drives once I click on them.

    Yes, came with Win 11.

I'm going to install Win 10. Upon setup, it asks me where to install. My Drive 0 Partition 1 has the system and Partition 4 has the WINRE_DRV. Here's a screenshot.

Interesting. But your computer came with Windows 11 right?

What you can do though, is to downoad Win10 iso instead of 11, then install it as Win10. License is no difference for 10 and 11. Then you can run the PC health check app to see what's not meeting the requirement. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/how...

You might just need to install BIOS update from the computer's manufacturer website.
