Our recently purchased Win 11 laptop went through a regular update, but also gave us the bitlocker key request. We do not see the bitlocker key under our email, do we have to reinstall windows, can we save some files?

I think for the time being, we will pass on the encryption...perhaps we can enable over the summer break but for now we are fine without it.

    I appreciate all your help.

Ok, so your bitlocker is not enabled, so you won't have the key. The key is only if it is enabled.

Do you want bitlocker encryption though? If not, you can just enjoy your computer and no need to do anything else now.

    Oh sorry.

I spoke with Lenovo and originally the secure boot was enabled, and now it's not. Perhaps we won't have this problem with the bitlocker turned off, but would be nice to have the key just in case this situation arises again.

We have a handful of upsates to perform after this re-install, so we are hesitant at the moment...lol.

Did you use the "run as administrator" to launch Command Prompt?
