Our bitlocker key is not in our account

Our recently purchased Win 11 laptop went through a regular update, but also gave us the bitlocker key request. We do not see the bitlocker key under our email, do we have to reinstall windows, can we save some files?

    Any chance the computer was set up with a different account?

    Otherwise, reach out to the school organization IT support team. Some organizations can set up bitlocker keys to be accessed via backend so only admin user can get it for you via Intune admin center. They would need that 32 recovery Key ID then.

    We purchased this laptop brand new through Lenovo, the two school accounts through Microsoft show no devices.

    If it is 32, it means it is stored with a work/school account.

    https://aka.ms/aadrecoverykey sign in with your work/school email credential.

    Hopefully you know which work/school email this could be - think about any org account you might have used to sign into any Microsoft 365 app for example.

    It does, it's alpha-numeric and is 32 characters.

    Does the screen provide you with a recovery key ID ? If so, how many digit is that ID?
