In the Recovery Environment on your PC, open Command Prompt.

In Command Prompt, type notepad.exe and press Enter.

    Notepad should open.

    Select File - Open.

You should then be able to use the Open File dialog like a small File Explorer window to drag your files and folders out onto a USB drive to make a safe copy of them.

How much data (personal files) do you have stored on your drive, and is that drive partitioned into different drives?
