Hello,

I had a recent windows update on 15th January 2025. I have an update failure showing for - Dolby - SoftwareComponent - 3.30702.720.0 - Install Error - 0x8007013

Anyone else experienced this or any advise as to how to resolve?

I have tried running the updates again but get the same result.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

That is a problem many people report with the drivers that Windows Updates tries to install, if that update is continually failing, then the best option is to use to official Microsoft Show/Hide Tool to hide that driver update to stop Windows continually trying to install that driver.

Thank you - finally. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad which already had the Dolby and Intel updates, and it kept trying to load and failing on Windows update but could not get rid of them until not only using your link to hide, but someone's update on how to allow the tool since it was blocked as malicious. The updates are FINALLY gone. Appreciate the help here.

Solution that worked for me: Open Microsoft Store, click on Downloads in the left vertical bar; then “Updates and Downloads” is displayed; retrieve all updates; when these are installed, retrieve Windows Update again and let it run through; then the error message is gone. Good luck

Here are the steps to download it:

    1. Open Edge.
    2. Go to this page and press the link.
    3. Press the 3 dots next to the blocked file in the download popup.
    4. Press keep and the file will download.

Chrome will have a similar procedure.
