Hello,
I had a recent windows update on 15th January 2025. I have an update failure showing for - Dolby - SoftwareComponent - 3.30702.720.0 - Install Error - 0x8007013
Anyone else experienced this or any advise as to how to resolve?
I have tried running the updates again but get the same result.

That is a problem many people report with the drivers that Windows Updates tries to install, if that update is continually failing, then the best option is to use to official Microsoft Show/Hide Tool to hide that driver update to stop Windows continually trying to install that driver.
A review of my driver update history shows that this driver has been successfully installed multiple times. Apparently, the problem is that Windows (11 in my case) isn't recognizing the successful installation and keeps wanting to do it over and over. Go figure!
From Updates look up Update History/Drivers Updates(scroll down the list) where it shows the successful installation of the dolby driver. So we are getting simultaneous messages of successful and failed installation.
I have a Lenovo thinkpad and so we have probably recieved the dolby update from Lenovo and MS.
For wushowhide you have to explicitly say tl tbe brouwser that it must keep it because it thinks that it is a virus.
For the driver, you can use Lenovo Vantage (is preinstalled on your computer) or there websites automated bridge software. It will say that there are no updates since it already installed it several months ago.
I meant has that computer ever been on windows 10. Maybe several years ago. Anyway, I contacted Microsoft. They tried averything. The point is the update is already installed. However, since it already is installed it cannot update to that version. You can hide it.
