Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

That is a problem many people report with the drivers that Windows Updates tries to install, if that update is continually failing, then the best option is to use to official Microsoft Show/Hide Tool to hide that driver update to stop Windows continually trying to install that driver.

    Same issue here

Glad to have found this forum before this issue threatened to drive me bonkers. Dave's solution worked! Out of sight, out of mind, I guess.

Before finding this thread, I tried the Windows Update Troubleshooter first, which apparently no longer exists in Windows 11. Then went on to CHKDSK, DISM and SFC scans, which turned up "Component store is repairable." I have no idea what the Component store is, nor did I know it was broken. While DISM apparently repaired the store, the repair had no effect on this problem.

Ceelbc has made me a believer that it probably is best to get updates from the manufacturer. I clicked on Ceelbc's link to Dolby, which recommended searching for the most up to date drivers on your computer manufacturer's website, and provided links to the major brands. My machine is a Lenovo. On the Lenovo website, I let Lenovo scan the machine for any updated drivers. The results showed that all my drivers are already the latest. All this angst for no good reason.

Thanks, Dave, for your solution and to the others of you who were first to report this problem.
