    Hello

Had the same problem. KB5050009 update was stuck at downloading and every restart i had to wait at the updates are underway screen but it never updated and the update was stuck on downloading in windows update. (TiWorker.exe/windows modules installer) was eating up my CPU and RAM usage. PC got like stuck now and then and sounds got stuck for like 1 sec. Now its seems like its fixed.

For me the fix was do uninstall norton 360 that comes with the laptop. I think it was because norton blocks and takes over windows defender.
After uninstalling norton and restarting my laptop i check windows update again and it went from downloading update to installing update. After a little waiting windows update asked to restart and the update was done.

I think the fix for me was to uninstall/disable any kind of antivirus program except windows defender so that windows update and windows defender can just work its things out. I also did the optional firmware update in windows update.

I will not install norton again. Sry for bad English.
    Hope it helps

    Hi Jorge,

Thanks for the comments and guide. Indeed since November 2024 update I'm having the same issue any time install Windows 11 update, once reboot it crashes on blue screen, after 2nd or 3rd reboot finally booted and works fine with no issues.

Already run Support Assist and Dell Command Update for updates but all is updated. BIOS is updated to the latest version available for Dell Latitude 7390.

Long story short, the issue is only with "2025-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5050009)" is stuck and not instilling on restart.

    Thanks

    Regards

I used Dell Support Assist and installed some firmware and BIOS updates. After a reboot, the 2025-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5050009) update was installed, but it took some time. After that reboot, the PC booted and crashed with the blue screen of death. After a second reboot, it crashed again. On the third attempt, it finally booted. So far, it has worked well. I will now work on cloning the disk for the future.

    Regards,

    Jorge
