WIN 11 update failing, showing error 0x800705b4

Oops, I meant Hard Stop or Shutdown. Then I restarted my computer. Hold the Power button for over 10 seconds until the pc shuts down. Then restart the pc. This worked for me.

It might be a corrupted DNS cache. If you flushed the cache and/or restarted the computer and found the issue fixed, then that might explain why the restart worked (a restart would flush the DNS). That, however, might not fully explain why many others have been having this problem for days or even weeks. Because, even if/when you don't restart your system, the DNS cache would be flushed after 24 hours anyway at the latest. So, there might be more than one thing going on here. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Had this issue with error message  0x800705b4 since January 2025. Following this solution, I have a new error, being 0x80080005.

Looking for the solution on error 0x80080005, it says that I should amongst others delete everything in the folder Windows\SoftwareDistribution. However my labtop doesn't allow me to do so as it says that I do not have the admin rights. This is strange on my own laptop, on which I'm logged in as an administrator.

Grateful, if some one can help me to resolve this so that I can install the updates as I'm still on Windows 11 24H2 Build 26100.2605.

Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.3775.
