WIN 11 update failing, showing error 0x800705b4

Today Jan 19, 2025. when I want to check for updates ( with automatic updates button ON position), updates are not installing. It says as under:

There were some problems in installing updates, but we will try again. If you keep this and want to search web or contact support for information this may help: 0x800705b4

Grateful, if some one can help me to resolve this so that I can installed the updates

This worked for me! I couldn't use most of the other suggestions as I'm on a corporate Dell laptop without admin privileges, and with other problems in the past (Bluetooth connected but no sound output), the internet was more helpful than our help desk.

Error code was 0x800705b4

Windows build is 26100.3775

Thanks Jen,

I was able to get mine cleared: Safe mode and delete the SoftwareDistribution folder. This worked for me.

I had same problem. Stopped services, rebooted, deleted Updates folder, restarted services, cured internet access problem (unknown cause) with reboot of router, rebooted again and updates now ok. Many thanks. Charles
