WIN 11 update failing, showing error 0x800705b4

Today Jan 19, 2025. when I want to check for updates ( with automatic updates button ON position), updates are not installing. It says as under:

There were some problems in installing updates, but we will try again. If you keep this and want to search web or contact support for information this may help: 0x800705b4

Grateful, if some one can help me to resolve this so that I can installed the updates

    that is not the issue

    What did solve this part of the issue for me was to create and iso image of that update and then mount it and run it.

    That cured the errors with the 24h2 install

    However, the 24h2 update has caused issues with lan manager and LAN browse lists which are not resolved

    I have an open ticket with MS about that issue

    You may want to try Sherif146's solution that was sent after you posted your notice. It is generic but it might help.

    Hello,

    The issue is solved on my machine following the below steps provided by  Emmanuel Santana

    You can try resetting the Windows Update service and clearing any potentially corrupted update files: 

    1. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.  
    2. Locate Windows Update in the list, right-click it, and select Stop.  
    3. Navigate to the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder.  
    4. Delete everything inside this folder.  
    5. Return to the Services window, right-click Windows Update again, and this time select Start.  

    After completing these steps, restart your computer. Once it reboots, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Check for updates.

    I am having this same issue and it's been since Jan 21, 2025 with no resolve. My windows 11 24H2 OS build is 26100.2894
