I finally succeeded by starting dns client ( changing 4 to 3 with regedit). Check that service is started as well as winhttpproxy service.

Hi,
I installed the new windows 11 24H2 update about a week and for whatever reason my wifi drivers have stopped working (specifically the Killer (R) Wi-Fi 6E AX1675i). The wifi option itself no longer appears.
I have tried a number of the solutions listed on this forum involving troubleshooting, a network reset, entering the netsh/ipconfig commands on CMD for TCP/IP reset, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, restarted the router (not the modem, but I don't think this should be an issue as other devices seem to connect just fine) and nothing seems to be working. I didn't realize that I hadn't approved system restore, so I don't have a restoration point I can restore to. Uninstalling the update doesn't seem to be doing anything either (I am fairly sure that I uninstalled the correct update, but I could be wrong).
I have an Acer Swift Go 14 device (i7-1355u). I am not super technically adept, so I am not sure the following will cause any issues with connecting or not, but I have the Cisco AnyConnect Adapter driver, a VPN driver (Tunnel Bear), the Bluetooth Personal Area Network driver, a Realtek USB driver, and a bunch of WAN Miniport drivers as part of my network drivers.
Currently, I can only connect to the internet via an Ethernet connection.
Any help would be appreciated.

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WinHttpAutoProxySvc'Start' needs to be set to '3' and the machine needs to be rebooted.The key reverts to '4' on reboot BECAUSE I HAD A GPO TO DISABLE WPAD. IF YOU HAVE A GPO OR REG KEY TO DISABLE WPAD ,THIS WILL BREAK IT.
Note: keeping WPAD disbaled is recommended for best security practices, but until Microsoft fixes this it will continue to not work.

Funny how Microsoft agents fail to recognise the bug caused by Microsoft and immediately claim it's a manufacturer issue. These 'Agents' appear to google most answers and don't have a clue what they are talking about. About par for most IT support 'professionals'

2025-04-30T15:50:01+00:00 Same issue here. I have a BrosTrend AXE5400 WiFi 6E USB WiFi Dongle connected to my PC which has worked flawlessly. Updated to 24H2 and now it isn't recognised on startup until I remove it and put it back in. Then it suddenly works.
I've uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled and nothing resolves the issue.
Put the same dongle into my laptop which is on 23H2 and it works perfect again.
It's 24H2 that is causing the problem, but as is always with Microsoft, they point the blame at everything and everyone else and will never admit they can make a mistake.

2025-05-01T01:45:21+00:00 I have what might be a solution for HP users and there's a chance it might steer people in the right direction if you don't use HP. I've been struggling with this issue for around 4 hours now, but I just about got to the bottom of it I think so I'm going to share in case this helps others.
Downloading the HP Support Assistant allowed me to update some drivers. Navigating to "See all fixes and diagnostics" -> "Software & Drivers" should show the drivers available to update.
From what I had available there was a firmware driver "HP BIOS and System Firmware (R70)" that needed updating. Following the instructions that HP Support Assistant prompted me with, the driver was then downloaded and installed for me which subsequently applied some changes to the BIOS. Once the BIOS updates had completed, the laptop loaded and the Wi-Fi was re-established pretty much immediately.
Really hope this helps some people move forward with this issue as I would've been pretty unhappy with not having an option to use Wi-Fi on my laptop until Windows figured out how to update my driver themselves.
