Windows update (24H2) causing wifi issues

Hi,

I installed the new windows 11 24H2 update about a week and for whatever reason my wifi drivers have stopped working (specifically the Killer (R) Wi-Fi 6E AX1675i). The wifi option itself no longer appears.

I have tried a number of the solutions listed on this forum involving troubleshooting, a network reset, entering the netsh/ipconfig commands on CMD for TCP/IP reset, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, restarted the router (not the modem, but I don't think this should be an issue as other devices seem to connect just fine) and nothing seems to be working. I didn't realize that I hadn't approved system restore, so I don't have a restoration point I can restore to. Uninstalling the update doesn't seem to be doing anything either (I am fairly sure that I uninstalled the correct update, but I could be wrong).

I have an Acer Swift Go 14 device (i7-1355u). I am not super technically adept, so I am not sure the following will cause any issues with connecting or not, but I have the Cisco AnyConnect Adapter driver, a VPN driver (Tunnel Bear), the Bluetooth Personal Area Network driver, a Realtek USB driver, and a bunch of WAN Miniport drivers as part of my network drivers.

Currently, I can only connect to the internet via an Ethernet connection.

Any help would be appreciated.

    i share your pain.

    No suggestion so far has worked, For me the wifi wigit disappears, bluetooth remains, while device manager shows there is no issue with the wifi device. I have even tried a second usb external wifi, to no avail ie it shows in device manager as ok but still no wifi widgit and no internet.

    Most peoples suggestion are around an http proxy server - im not running a proxy so its not that.

    No network reset, reinstall of drivers/driver updates, router reboot, regedit helps.

    The only fix is to roll back the update, suspend it for 5 weeks, then when it reinstalls again, rollback. I have done this so many times so far.....

    Sorry I don't have a solution....I don't believe one exists for this Microsoft bug. Sorry - that doesn't help unless someone reads this and has a suggestion....

    I am having the same issue and also using windows 11 24H2 version. I'm so depressed with this issue everytime when I open my laptop WiFi icon disappears from my taskbar menu. If there any solution for this problem please update us asap. 🙏🏻

    Please refer the permanent solution on this.

    open Regedit as admin

    Go here:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WinHttpAutoProxySvc

    Change the 'Start value' to 3

    Open Services.msc
    Find service :- WLAN AutoConfig & restart service

    sc config WcmSvc depend= RpcSs/NSI

    Experiencing the same issue after the 24H2 update to my Surface Pro 8

    The network adapter Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz showing the same error code in Device Manager

    Tried disabling enabling the adapter - did not work

    Tried uninstalling the adapter and restarting - did not work

    Tried the troubleshoot tool - did not work

    Tried airplane mode toggle - did not work
    Tried power down Surface and reboot - did not work

    It came back once after uninstalling the adapter and restarting , but a few days later it suddenly not showing Wifi options

    I was able to restore my Wi-Fi after doing the following.

    Note: I got the idea for this using Microsoft pilot.

    (My Wi-Fi adapter is the Killer Wireless network adapter, but it should work on any adapter)

    1. Open Device Manager and the go to Network Adapter and then right click on the offending Wi-Fi adapter.
    2. Select "Update Driver"
    3. Select "Browse my computer for drivers"
    4. Select "---> Let me pick from a list..."
    5. In my case I was shown a list of compatible drivers (all Killer Wireless digitally signed).

    Note: the "Show compatible hardware" box was checked

    1. I started by selecting the top one on the list.
    2. Select next. Waited for the adapter to install and the Device Manager to refresh.
    3. If the yellow triangle re-appears then repeat the above steps.
    4. If there is no yellow triangle.
    5. Then restarted my PC.

    Finally, on about the third one down on the list it worked, and my Wi-Fi was restored.

    Note: If this doesn't work. Try unchecking the "Show compatible hardware" check box and select the Microsoft generic wi-fi adapter.
