Whenever I shut PC down it says I have one app open and need to shut it down first. There is no apps open. The message also mentions the Task Host stopping the shut down.

My Task Host problem has now gone and it may or may not be linked to the change I made yesterday when I turned my Memory Integrity on. For some reason it had been off.
Windows Security – Device Security – Core Isolation – Memory Integrity. I had to restart my PC, which took ages (about an hour) but it was worth it. On restarting, Windows Updates started working again, albeit slowly. At the moment, things are more or less back to how it was before Task Host began playing up.
Did anyone find a solution? It does not seem that we can contact Microsoft directly - they removed the ability to request a call back from their support desk and I'm left going round and round in circles on their site. Incredibly frustrating.
Didn't work
I have the same problem. I had one stuck update, tried to pause updates for a week - didn't helped.
Resumed updates and now update manager constantly checks for updates without any result
the steps stated above are not working for me please tell a proper solution
