Antimalware service executable eats memory

title. it's always taking 200-300 mb of memory.

I tried:

disable windows security, got hit with this setting is managed by your (non existent) administrator

end task, got access is denies

command prompt things, did nothing

edit group policy, did nothing

enable disableantispyware in regedit, got hit with access is denied

tried to give myself permission to enable disableantispyware, access is denied

in case I missed any, I basically tried everything you can find online. no matter what I do, either nothing happens, access is denied or this setting is managed by your administrator

I'm about to flip this is my computer, I should get to choose what to do. I am the administrator and only user

When taskbar stopped working I tried to update laptop, the only restore point is from them. I have no idea whats going on I don't want my laptop to be broken. I don't want to lose anything pls help

I apologise for the inconvenience and for responding to someone else's thread in order to get in contact with you. I hope not to come across as disrespectful, but I have not received a reply to my problem/inquiry in my own thread. I've waited over a month now, and I'm just doing this now to follow up and grab your attention.

This is now my second attempt to reach out and grab your attention, as I previously sent this message in another forum thread to get in touch with you, but unfortunately, I did not receive a response.

Continue as you will, helping this person. I sincerely apologise for interrupting, all I ask is that you check my thread when you get the time. Again, I do not to come across as selfish or disrespectful by doing this.

I'd appreciate your assistance regarding my problems/inquiries in my own thread.

In the System Restore window, click "Show more restore points". Does it list the restore point we created yesterday or the day before?

If it's missing, create a new local admin account and see if that helps. To create a new local admin account, open Command Prompt admin via Task Manager.

Open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc.

Create a new cmd.exe process with administrative privileges.

Run the following commands to create a new local admin account.
```
net user USERNAME PASSWORD /add

net localgroup administrators USERNAME /add 
```
(Note: Replace the placeholder text "USERNAME" and "PASSWORD" with the new user name and password, respectively.)

Login to the newly created account.

I don't want to create a new account, I just want to go back to how it was before. I'm so scared I permanently broke my computer because I wanted to have permission to change things on my OWN DEVICE. I'll cope with not having any permissions I just want my laptop to work normally not a new account

Can you please answer my other query about System Restore points or image backup?

The batch file removed the Defender ATP service. We can reinstate it from backup we created on the C:\ drive.
