After the 4 Feb 2025 update, Outlook New can't connect to my email provider

Everything was working fine until I saw the update finish.

There have been no other changes.

IMAP, SMTP and password info are correct.

charter.net doesn't recognize the Outlook (New) login attempt.

NOTE: This is a Windows 11 PC (4 months old). I can't, nor do I want to, go back to Outlook "Classic".

I can login to my charter account and see my email (only). I have additional family accounts in Outlook (New).

I am afraid of losing data (For a third time) because of this updated ***** program.

Any suggestions?

    Adding another voice to the mix. My charter.net email stopped working a couple of days ago in new Outlook. I tried fixing, re-entering PW, etc... but nothing worked. No sending and no receiving on that email, while three other email accounts still work.

    After reading all these comments - I realize I'll likely just have to wait for Microsoft to fix its update bug. It's incredibly inconvenient to not be able to get all my accounts in Outlook for sure!

    It's now 12 days since I have had any email come through my Outlook.

    Microsoft can you please put out a fix to this mess???????

    Good news (The following worked for me)

    After reading all the different posts about the latest issue with Outlook (New) PC, I did the following:

    1. I un-installed it (again). (Wasn't working right anyway)
    2. I made sure that the "Microsoft store" showed "Owned" not "Installed" (Might take a while)
    3. I "Installed" the app (again)
    4. When you start the program for the first time, it asks you to configure your account(s)
    5. I used the "POP" source instead of "IMAP" (Thanks to "Myusm" for the post)
    6. I was able to load mine and a family member's email accounts

    Bad news (It is like starting fresh)

    1. It starts you with its default email folders.
    2. You have to re-add any additional email folders you like to use and re-populate your calendar
    3. Wish the new Outlook had a backup feature like before (Why would we need to backup anything?)

    I no sooner find a workable solution, they update the app (same day), and now I have more problems than before.

    The short (or long) term solution is to use your provider's email system.

    Who knows, MS might take pity on us.
