After the 4 Feb 2025 update, Outlook New can't connect to my email provider

Everything was working fine until I saw the update finish.

There have been no other changes.

IMAP, SMTP and password info are correct.

charter.net doesn't recognize the Outlook (New) login attempt.

NOTE: This is a Windows 11 PC (4 months old). I can't, nor do I want to, go back to Outlook "Classic".

I can login to my charter account and see my email (only). I have additional family accounts in Outlook (New).

I am afraid of losing data (For a third time) because of this updated ***** program.

Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem with Outlook (New). Started on Sunday, Feb 9. I assume there was an app update.

One email account stopped working. Tried repair - did not work. Tried deleting that email account and adding it again. Would not let me. Now I cannot add any new accounts. Even tried on another computer with no active email client. Downloaded lastest Outlook for Windows from Microsoft Store. It opens and I try to add an account. Goes to a Microsoft Sign In pop-up that is not able recognize my Microsoft account.

I was getting errors that said I needed a password from my provider. No such thing. Then got error that I needed an app password from my administrator. Well I am the administrator. Tried my email password and Microsoft account password. Neither worked.

I guess we are all waiting for Microsoft to fix the app.

Same for me Eric. Anyone know the solution? Why do Microsoft not sit up and sort this and fix whatever bug they have put in that stops our emails

Agree. I bought a new laptop a few montsh ago and was given new Outlook. It is useless. It can't attach an email to either a new mail or a calendar event

But this weekend 8/9 Feb some sort of update occured on my phone version, as "categories" appeared, so they did something. But on my laptop I cannot receive or send emails and Microsoft support have been useless in helping me sort it

All protocols linking my outlook to my email provider are there and unchanged, so what is the problem? Do I have to update the laptop and if so, how?
