After the 4 Feb 2025 update, Outlook New can't connect to my email provider

Everything was working fine until I saw the update finish.

There have been no other changes.

IMAP, SMTP and password info are correct.

charter.net doesn't recognize the Outlook (New) login attempt.

NOTE: This is a Windows 11 PC (4 months old). I can't, nor do I want to, go back to Outlook "Classic".

I can login to my charter account and see my email (only). I have additional family accounts in Outlook (New).

I am afraid of losing data (For a third time) because of this updated ***** program.

Any suggestions?

Today is just two days away from the "second Tuesday of each month".

On that date, at 10 AM Pacific, Microsoft will release Security Updates for Windows. So, on Tuesday morning, run Windows Update, to see if there is an update for "new Outlook" in the package of updates.

Maybe, the 47th President will sign an Executive Order to "make it so".

How very helpful to make sure to insert political nonsense and not much else.

Clearly, Microsoft does not care about the customer anymore. No one from Microsoft has responded with a way to fix all of this.

It it time to dump New Outlook.

I have switched to Mozilla Thunderbird and have not had any problems sending or receiving my emails. It is a better program that actually works. Any questions I have had, and someone does respond or I can search for my answer. This is a very good program.

I have same issue connecting from New Outlook to the Charter server mobile.charter.net.

Last email received Feb. 7, 2025.

I removed my charter email account and tried adding it back, but now it will not at all, so I cannot even add tge account.

Possible solution everyone!?? My wife found what I suspect is the same issue on her laptop when she tried to open New Outlook yesterday 10th Feb. I've discovered that Norton 360 was, suddenly, blocking access to the internet, for both New Outlook and for Edge. What I think must have happened is that Microsoft made changes to Outlook and Edge that caused NAV to identify them both as completely new Apps - for which it was set to block access! I tweaked the network protection settings in NAV and hey presto everything's working fine again. So, may be worth a look at your Protection settings and I very much hope this helps you.

    regards

    > Two out of three email accounts update.

    > The one that does not still updates on my phone.

So, either that one mail-server does not support connections from Apple computers, or the E-mail settings are different.

    Encrypted versus non-encrypted connection?

Authenticate before sending, versus not required to send your account information?

    Same host-names, e.g., "mail.MyISP.com" or "smtp.MyISP.com" on both devices?

Just because you have not discovered a difference does not mean that there is no difference.
