Win 11 Widget Board all Black - asks to install Dependencies, but nothing happens...

Just had to reinstall Windows 11, 2h24, on our Lenovo T15. Everything works fine but the Widget Board. When I click the Taskbar Icon (shows no activity) the Widget Board loads but is nothing but black. When clicking on it, a message says "Additional Dependencies are needed to download and install" But when I click the install button the circle starts turning around. On and on forever. Nothing happens.

How do I fix this issue to make the Widget Board work again?

All the best, Anders. I tried tracing the "dependencies" error to see what's missing. But since the error no longer appeared after installing the Web experience pack, the trace didn't contain the required info. Maybe a boot trace is needed. Let's see. But, as you said, a clean install (reset) might be the easiest option.

    Hi Ramesh,

I might try out the boot trace first as you described in your prior message.

However, I am a bit uncertain about when to perform the ProgMon boot trace.. I will have to read it again and then do my best.

Wish me luck and until later.

    Anders

    Hi Anders,

A reset might be the preferred option; it can save you time.

Here are some boot trace guides:

    https://support.eset.com/en/kb6308-using-proces... (Gather boot log files)

    https://www.winhelponline.com/blog/boot-trace-p...

    Note:

I don't suggest sharing the boot trace log for public access because the Process Monitor log file can reveal your user account name or sometimes the Microsoft account email ID. If you wish to share the log with me or specific people, you can use the "Restricted" option in Google Drive. Once I send a request, you can grant me access.

Hi Ramesh, I agree - a reset would be the preferred option.I hope I can get my wife to accept that. This will be the third time, but a cloud download might be best practice. The last two times was a repair download from WU and then a reset (from the installation files on the Laptop).A cloud download is "the pure thing" as far as I understand...Best,Anders

    Hi Anders,

Cloud download is the recommended method. It downloads the setup image from Microsoft. The local reinstall option uses the existing system files (e.g., component store, etc.) and installs the OS. The local reinstall method is not preferred.
