Win 11 Widget Board all Black - asks to install Dependencies, but nothing happens...

Just had to reinstall Windows 11, 2h24, on our Lenovo T15. Everything works fine but the Widget Board. When I click the Taskbar Icon (shows no activity) the Widget Board loads but is nothing but black. When clicking on it, a message says "Additional Dependencies are needed to download and install" But when I click the install button the circle starts turning around. On and on forever. Nothing happens.

How do I fix this issue to make the Widget Board work again?

    Hey Femi,

    The file I had in the Download folder was a CAB file named: Microsoft.WebView2.FixedVersionRuntime.134.0.3124.93.x64.

    I have lost it but I should be able to locate it again. Two questions:

    #1: Are you sure I should try to install it if I can?

    #2 If Yes, how do I install a CAB file?

    The Widget Board wants to download and install Dependencies, but obviously can't do that, despite clicking on the Install button

    There must be a way to manually install the required dependencies. Could a developer help with some info?

    Hey Anders,

    Yes, go ahead and run the WebView2 installer from your Downloads folder. After installing, restart your PC and check if the Widget Board loads properly. If not, we can try additional troubleshooting steps.

    FYI: I found this from a previous troubleshooting on the Widget Board on another computer:

    Force Reinstall Windows Widgets via PowerShell :

    1: Press Win + X > Terminal (Admin)

    2: Run this command to fully remove the Widgets app:

    Get-AppxPackage *WebExperience* | Remove-AppxPackage

    3: Restart your PC.

    4: Reinstall it using:

    winget install 9MSSGKG348SP

    That did not change anything... so just FYI...

    Forgot to add: I found this and downloaded it the other day. I did not do anything with it so far. It resides just in my Download Folder: Microsoft.WebView2.FixedVersionRuntime.134.0.3124.93.x64

    Should I try to run/install that file?

    Hi again Fmi,
    I woke up and took the time to follow your instructions.

    Comment: The command: winget install "Windows Web Experience Pack" could not be found after uninstalling it, so I went to the store and installed it.

    • I reset Microsoft Store
    • I did the reboots in between

    None of this helped. Still facing a black Widget Board that says "Install Required Dependencies" and when I click Install - the little circle goes on, and on and on...nothing happens...

    Sorry.

    What next to do?
