Win10, Right click on pinned programs in Start Menu no longer have file list

I removed all the updates from April 1st, 2025 on my computer that I could. I still have this issue even after removing KB5055518, the mentioned fix. Two updates remain that I cannot remove:

Tried removing KB5051974 - kept getting error when uninstalling. The message was "An error occurred. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled."

servicing stack 10.0.19041.5676 - wouldn't let me uninstall

The next updates for MS were installed on 3/15/25 and Adobe on 3/23/25. I certainly would have seen this issue between 3/23/25 and 4/1 (actually more like 4/6 or 7 when the offending updates occurred).

Either those updates I can't remove note above are causing my problem OR I must have to now turn this, right click file feature, on somewhere.

I removed KB5055518 after I saw your post. That did NOT fix the issue for me. I rebooted twice after just to be sure.

Windows update started to re-update KB5055518. I tried to stop it by pausing updates as far out as I could (to May 16, 25). That didn't work either. I will uninstall it again and KB5055063 that it also appears to have reinstalled. Then proceed to uninstall all updates left, one at a time, that were on 4/9-11/25 for my computer.

I can't access the feeback hub link above (?because it is for your userid?). There is one upvote now so you must have found it. You (Clent) must have more power than I as I cannot see any "Status" of this feeback.

It was KB5055518 that did it for me. That was the only update that ran on my computer.

Does Microsoft intentionally put engineers that make mistakes and break the code so that users will become disillusioned with win10.

That the most recently used files on each app doesn't exist on win11 is one reason I don't want to switch. I like to pin the files that I constantly need to refer back to.

I just encountered this issue on one computer this week after installing the Patch Tuesday updates. I believe I've found your report in the Feedback Hub. Is this it?

In any case, I've upvoted that report, and I've added a comment on it. Currently, the status of the report is that Microsoft is looking into it. I hope they find the issue!

Thank you for posting about this issue here. I was able to find your post through a Bing search. Now at least I know I'm not alone when it comes to this issue. If this happened to us, then I'm sure it's happened to others as well.
