If it's happening across two different laptops, that strongly points to a systemic issue introduced by a recent update, rather than local corruption or misconfiguration.

I'm pretty sure this occured after the latest update (which is actually four updates). I removed all four updates and the right click latest file function is still not there.
The update was: March 25, 2025-KB5055063 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2 - Microsoft Support
The first update removed as listed is KB5054978. I lost track of the other 3 updates installed at the same time.
THIS IS THE EXACT MAIN REASON I WOULDN'T GO TO WINDOWS 11!!!! I'll be glad when there are no more win10 updates!
How do I get this right click function back? Below is the menu I get when I now right click on a pinned start menu, program:

On 2 of them, the jumplists haven't disappeared with all the updates installed.On 6 of them, the jumplists disappeared. I restored the backup and blocked all automatic updates in gpedit.msc.
On 1 of these 6 restored computers, I hid KB5055518, and the rest of the updates were installed, preserving the jumplists.
On another of these 6 restored computers, I hid KB5055518, and the rest of the updates were installed, but again, the jumplists were lost.It doesn't make any sense. It seems like the problem is with KB5055518, but other times it doesn't.

2025-04-12T08:27:25+00:00 Well, I already have three Windows 10 computers with the jumplist problem. I just updated one I rarely use, and it's doing the same thing. I'm going back to the March backup and blocking updates.

- KB5055518 cumulative, catalog, uninstallable security, manual jumplist OK
- KB5054978 uninstallable, Framework catalog, preview, manual jumplist OK
(KB5055683 cumulative Framework, catalog 4.8.1 and download the previous one) - KB2267602 Defender Security Intelligence, auto-installed even with paused updates, jumplist OK.
- Servicing Stack 10.0.19041.5676, auto-installed even with paused updates, jumplist OK.
- Intel System 2452.7.1.0, catalog, Intel Management Engine Interface in Device Manager. Previous 2354.
- KB5057589 security recovery environment, uninstallable
- I restored my backup to March 12, 2025, after the March 2025 updates.
- I manually downloaded all the updates from the Microsoft catalog except for the latest one from the recovery environment, which I can't find.
- After manually installing the updates, the jumplists continue to work after a reboot.
- The problem is deeper and is due to something going wrong during the search for updates, not during their installation.
I'm currently working with updates that have been paused since March 12, 2025. I don't mind much.
What a coincidence that there are exactly six months left (October 2025) until all Windows 10 updates disappear and support ends.
I've already prepared Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 21H2 with security updates through January 13, 2032, for when October 2025 arrives.

2025-04-11T17:25:15+00:00 In my case KB5055518 was the only update that ran that night according to the update log. I am 100% sure that the feature worked before the update since I use it daily. I noticed it non-functional as soon as I started work and went to open an Excel file that was pinned to the Excel app.
