I cannot update my system.it keeps saying failed no matter how many times i press retry

3. Set the "Startup type" to "Automatic";
4. Click "Start" in that same window and see if the service will start correctly;
5. Click Ok.
6. Look for "Windows Update" and double-click to open the properties;
7. Set the "Startup type" to "Automatic";
8. Click "Start" in that same window and see if the service will start correctly;
9. Click Ok.

After doing this, go to Windows Update and see if you can install the update.

Step 1 to 5 was successfull but when proceeding to step 6,i failed to start the window update

I suspect a corruption issue.

In this case, use the system file checker to try to repair possible corrupted system files.

1. Open Start and type cmd, right-click on "Command Prompt", and select "Run as administrator".
2. Run the following commands at the Command Prompt one at a time:

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

sfc /scannow

Note: Pay close attention to the results of the commands. This will help you determine whether the procedure was completed successfully or if there was a problem. If you get any errors, let me know the error message that was displayed.

3. Then restart your PC and see if you can update.
