Win 11 Version 24H2 Install Failed

I tried to install Win 11 Version 24H2 for the second time, and it failed for a second time. The first BSOD message gave the following info:

Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart.

Stop code: INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE

After a couple of restarts, the update was backed out. I'm back on Windows 11 Pro Version 23H2.

I checked the update history and saw the Install error code - 0xc1900101.

Before I tried the 24H2 update, I did the following:

Unplug unnecessary USB devices

Drivers were updated

No issues in Device Manager

I have 30GB of free space on the drive

Any help would be appreciated,

    1. Please read this link on Windows Driver Verifier (WDV):

Enable and Disable Driver Verifier in Windows 10

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5470-enable-disable-driver-verifier-windows-10-a.html

    1. Create a new restore point Create System Restore Point in Windows 10

    https://www.elevenforum.com/t/create-system-restore-point-in-windows-11.3602/

    1. Learn the methods to recover from BSOD caused by WDV by booting into safe mode and running one or more of these commands:

    verifier /reset

    verifier /bootmode resetonbootfail

    https://www.elevenforum.com/t/boot-to-advanced-startup-winre-in-windows-11.425/

    1. Plan to run the tool with multiple customized test settings.

    a) Test all non-Microsoft drivers

    b) Test no Microsoft drivers

    c) For the first run of WDV select the 3 customized tests displayed in the TF tutorial

    1. Whenever the WDV tool is started if there is no immediate BSOD then open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

    verifier /querysettings

    Post a share link.

Customized tests will then be posted for the next run of WDV.

WDV can run continuously during the testing.

For any BSOD post a new V2 share link into the newest post.

    Ramesh,

Failed again. I've uploaded logs to the share drive..the only logs there now.

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1pAkm8Z6XBzIzfItGsqtEctSxFMpbP4UR?usp=drive_link

The next time I try. Should it be from the Windows Update section or from media from a USB?

    Thanks,

    sms1295

The setup crashed during dynamic update. Let's try without dynamic updates.

Please run this fixlist.txt. Post fixlog.txt.

Rerun the setup from the ISO.

In the initial screen, click “Change how Setup downloads updates.”

Select “Not right now”, and continue the setup.

    Ramesh,

The Fixlist has been running for 15 min. Should it run that long?

    Hi sms125,

It shouldn't take more than two minutes. It removes some drivers and empties your browser caches, cookies, history, temp, WU cache, etc.

You may try booting into Safe mode with networking and rerunning it. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-startup-settings-1af6ec8c-4d4a-4b23-adb7-e76eef0b847f

The program ran for about five min in Safe Mode and then I stopped it. A Fixlog.txt file was created which I uploaded to the share drive.
