Win 11 Version 24H2 Install Failed

I tried to install Win 11 Version 24H2 for the second time, and it failed for a second time. The first BSOD message gave the following info:

Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart.

Stop code: INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE

After a couple of restarts, the update was backed out. I'm back on Windows 11 Pro Version 23H2.

I checked the update history and saw the Install error code - 0xc1900101.

Before I tried the 24H2 update, I did the following:

Unplug unnecessary USB devices

Drivers were updated

No issues in Device Manager

I have 30GB of free space on the drive

Any help would be appreciated,

    Bernard,

I'll need to start off with the 24H2 update, is no longer available for me to install. This is the same as when I was working on this issue in January. I've tried running the 'check for update' option a few times, but the update still doesn't appear. Since the same happened back in Jan I would like to continue working on the issue in case the update appears in the next few days.

Hi, thank you for that information. Since you have configured the Minidump files, can you try to update and recreate the issue? Then, once you have the Minidump files, can you upload and share them? No worries, it only contains errors and doesn't have any personal information.

While waiting, can you please check the System logs on the PC so that I can further examine the root cause of the issue?

To do this, kindly follow the steps from this link:

Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.

Then, please upload it by following the steps from the link.

Additional note: We will first check what is causing the Blue Screen on the PC, the Windows Deployment Upgrade Process Logs will be needed later if you cannot update after fixing the Bluescreen error.

    Bernard,

    Thank you for responding.

Unfortunately, my system was not configured to have a Mimi dump folder. I've corrected that for the future. If you want to see the files created in C:$Windows. BTSourcesPanther and C:$Windows. BTSourcesRollback, I can provide them. Also, I've tried running SetupDiag.exe, but no logs are produced.

I can create a Google Shared folder, but I would prefer to restrict its access so that you can view it.

    Below is my computer information:

    CPU: Intel Core i9 14900K

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX (BIOS: FLb)

    Memory: 64 GB DDR5

Graphics: Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050

    Thanks,

Hi, thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard, a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today, my timezone is UTC +8.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to assist, based on your inputs, a Bluescreen is happening to the device when you upgrade, this means there might be an incompatible driver or hardware on the PC, in this case, can you please check if you have Minidump files on the PC so that I can further examine what is the root cause of the issue?

Press Windows key + E (To open File Explorer)

Click "This PC" > then follow the file path:

    C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy the Minidump files and save them to another location like Desktop or Documents.

Then please upload it to Cloud storage like OneDrive or any cloud storage you are using and please share the shareable link here.

To upload and share the link using OneDrive:

Go to this link: https://onedrive.live.com/ then upload the file.

Then provide the shareable link by following the steps from this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/shar...

Let me know how it goes and I hope that helps.

    Bernard
