Win 11 Version 24H2 Install Failed

The drivers we removed yesterday, such as AOMEI, WDC_SAM, gdrv3, etc., are back. That's strange. Another fix list may be required.

1. Please create a System Restore Point and an OS image backup using AOMEI.
2. Once done, uninstall these products:

• Paragon software.
• VMWare
• Virtual Box
• AOMEI

(by the way, all of the above apps add device drivers to the system.)

3. Unplug all hardware except the essential ones, such as the WiFi adapter, keyboard, and mouse.
4. Run these two commands from the admin Command Prompt:

rundll32.exe c:\windows\system32\pnpclean.dll,RunDLL_PnpClean /DRIVERS /MAXCLEAN

rundll32.exe c:\windows\system32\pnpclean.dll,RunDLL_PnpClean /DEVICES /MAXCLEAN

5. Clean boot using msconfig.exe.

One of the easiest methods to switch drives is to make a free backup image and restore the image.

Save the backup image to another disk drive or to the cloud. (Acronis, Aoemi, EaseUS, Hasleo, Macrium, Paragon, etc.)

Thank you for providing the link to WinDirStat - Windows Directory Statistics. I used it to find that the Avast Secure Browser was taking up 50+ GB on my C drive. After removing it, I had 70+ GB of free space. I went to the Windows Update queue to see that the 24H2 update was downloading. I decided to use this options, but it failed with Oxc1900101 error. BTW..I didn't use the clean boot option for the update.

I've added the files below after the failed try.

Thanks for the additional information, but still no luck creating enough space. I've decided I need to get a larger drive since I'll most likely have a space issue in the future with every major update. Thanks for all your suggestions. I'l keep all your suggestions in case I need to use them again.

Ok. But as you have many disks connected to the system, you should be able to move some data files to those drives temporarily and rerun the 24H2 setup. Clearing the C:\Windows\Softwaredistribution folder and your browser caches for each profile can free up gigabytes of space. Additionally, TreeSize or WinDirStat can further free up space on the C drive.

Download the tool and run it as administrator. Wait until it populates the entries and constructs the treemap.

The treemap represents each file as a colored rectangle, the area of which is proportional to the file's size. When you select the colored rectangle, the corresponding file is highlighted automatically.

For example, I select a rectangle in the treemap. It highlights the corresponding file in the folder view.

Identify the large files and eliminate them.
