February 8, 2022—KB5010342 (OS Builds 19042.1526, 19043.1526, and 19044.1526) (microsoft.com)

This security update includes quality improvements. Key changes include:

  • Addresses an issue that causes a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) modify operation to fail if the operation contains the SamAccountName and UserAccountControl attributes. The error message is, “Error: 0x20EF. The directory service encountered an unknown failure”.

***^UPDATED 01/11/22^*REMINDERWindows 10, version 2004 reached end of servicing on December 14, 2021. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends that you update to the latest version of Windows 10.

To update to one of the newer versions of Windows 10, we recommend that you use the appropriate Enablement Package KB (EKB). Using the EKB makes updating faster and easier and requires a single restart. To find the EKB for a specific OS, go to theImprovements and fixes section and click or tap the OS name to expand the collapsible section.

Highlights:

  • Updates a known issue that affects Japanese Input Method Editors (IME). Text you enter might appear out of order or the text cursor might move unexpectedly in apps that use the multibyte character set (MBCS).
  • Updates security for your Windows operating system.

Download the updates manually from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

The update of Feb 18 is problematic. I had to unistall otherwise, even simple navigation on internet would make the computer have a "soft freeze". I can open things, but nothing respond nor can I close what I just opened. I was doing that as soon as I entered window or up to 10 minutes.. rendering my computer useless. I unistall and all is good now (though still some stuttering in game).

I have the latest drivers for my AMD RX 6700XT and bios for my motherboard, asus x370-a prime with ryzen 1700x cpu.

The downloads from the windows update catalog site are no longer recognized as secure by Chrome. The SSl certificate from the download server does not match the "download.windowsupdate.com".
