This security update includes quality improvements. Key changes include:

  • Addresses an issue that causes a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) modify operation to fail if the operation contains the SamAccountName and UserAccountControl attributes. The error message is, “Error: 0x20EF. The directory service encountered an unknown failure”.

To update to one of the newer versions of Windows 10, we recommend that you use the appropriate Enablement Package KB (EKB). To find the EKB for a specific OS, go to theImprovements and fixes section and click or tap the OS name to expand the collapsible section.

  • Updates a known issue that affects Japanese Input Method Editors (IME). Text you enter might appear out of order or the text cursor might move unexpectedly in apps that use the multibyte character set (MBCS).

    Thank God for saved images! Every time I try to install updates, on restart I get the Blue Screen Of Death with error: "Boot device inaccessible." All recovery attempts fail, other than using a save system image, Initially I didn't have one and there were problems with my Acronis backup software so a reset was necessary, followed by reinstall of all software that didn't come with the machine. I've been creating system images religiously ever since.

    This NEVER happens on a normal boot after restart or shutdown.
    It ONLY happens after updates are installed.
    I have a Lenovo Ideapad 330S now (almost regrettably) running Windows 11, and I'm terrified of Windows Updates.

    It helps to have one or more external drives.

    Control Panel
    System & Security
    Backup and Restore

    Create a System Image

    • on a hard drive
    • on one or more DVDs
      Note: creation of a system image takes a long time- I let it run overnight.

    You can also create a bootable drive here

    This is where External drives are invaluable - choose one and use the option to recover

    You might also want to start
    Save backup copies with File History (again you'd want an external drive)

    I also use Acronis to backup my system, but misplaced the bootable DVD

    I left work last night and turned the monitors off and the computer on. showed up this morning and the computer had updated and I could not use the computer at all. I wasted several hours trying to get windows to startup but no luck. I need to get a windows 11 recovery disc or something. real pain

    thank you for your post, I will stick to Win 10 until MS fixes all these issues.

    I don't know how to make a system image - is there a software that you use for this?
