Feeds / Search application using all of the ram

I noticed that the PC started running slow today and opened task manager to see that System, Feeds (Search application) is using CPU and Disk quite heavily and as much ram that it can to pin it to 100%.

Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?

Update: Windows crashed and i restarted, same application started to ramp up again so i ended it.

Looking into events now.

    Hello,

    How can I disable the Feeds process?
    I've been tracking to track down my brand new computer would occasionally hang, there is basically nothing installed aside from videogames on it.

    Usually it's not able to load the Task Manager, but today it was able to before dying.

    I noticed the Feeds process using 10 GB of RAM and writing 100MB/sec on my SSD (****?).

    I have no idea what is it doing, but I just want it to be shutdown, permanently. I don't care about any of the features provided by it on this machine, I have many other computers and this one should exist only for playing videogames.

    I disabled "News and Interests", is there anything I have to do to ensure Feeds process also stays off/do no work?

    Notice that it is somewhat connected to Chrome, because when I terminated it, Feeds usage started dropping.

    hey. you made the same mistake of leaving paging files configured for your SSD another guy did. refer to my comment above to turn off the Feed and to prevent your SSD's horrible and untimely death.

    Looks kinda similar to my old PC, but my ram never fill up to more than 50%

    if your processor is a multi core processor, you can enable them all in msconfig advanced boot config menu

    So far this helped me. I’ve got a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 (64-bit, 8GB RAM, running Windows 10 Home, Intel drivers? Sorry, I’m not the best at all the specs) that appeared to have updated Windows, and afterwards the Feeds process was taking up >85% of my RAM and slowing/crippling my computer. I disabled News & Interests, had to End Task on Feeds to do just about anything else, and was finally able to check for updates and it found the KB5010415 update. After restarting/updating, the Feeds process came back in task manager at startup, but a leaf popped up beside it saying the UWP process group was suspending the process to improve performance, and the Feeds process shortly thereafter disappeared. So far seems to be working better now.

    Thank you, although one word of note, if I'm not wrong, a minimum of 512 MB (maybe was 256 MB) should be kept to ensure system dumps could be stored in case of a crash

    You SHOULD leave MINIMAL paging file on your system drive so that debug info can be written in case of problems. Depending on your config, some 16 MB should do for small dump.
