I noticed that the PC started running slow today and opened task manager to see that System, Feeds (Search application) is using CPU and Disk quite heavily and as much ram that it can to pin it to 100%.

Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?

Update: Windows crashed and i restarted, same application started to ramp up again so i ended it.

Looking into events now.

Could it be to do with the malicious software removal tool update that tooke place on the 8th feb? Loooking through the feed it appears everyone had the same update on the 8th feb and when i looked at the properties of feeds.exe it said it was created on the 8th of february, the same day i updated my computer. I'm assuming its maybe a bug in the code. Fingers crossed.

PS I am on an NVidia driver.

Thought I'd post my experience. Knew right off the bat that it felt like a memory leak, first noticed it last night. Entire computer froze and was moving at 1 fps every 5 seconds. Restarted and nothing went wrong so thought nothing of it. Happened again earlier today and decided to check task manager before it got too slow. Sure enough it was the feeds using 99% of ram usage on a 32gb of ram/AMD 5950x. Ended that task and everything went fine. I disabled the news on the taskbar and so far nothing. Definitely reminded me why I hate Microsoft updates.

Kinda sucks it's not available straight from the update menu and must searched it manually, no wonder my laptop is freezing and got like 0.00001 Fps on Idling. I got 6 years old laptop and this problem could've killed my laptop.

Gonna download the updates manually and hope it fixed it

Just happened to me. I was playing Genshin Impact with Discord, Chrome, and Spotify running in the background and noticed loading times were a lot longer than usual followed with some choppy framerates. Opened up task manager to see that Feeds was using 11GB.

I ended the task and disabled the News and Interest. So far it seems okay

    No seriously.

Feeds was using 100% of my CPU and my Hard drive space. Feeds way using 100GB of free space on my SSD and totally laging even my mouse clicks and keyboard use in MS office while traying to work.

Why of Why is Feeds using over 100 GB of my hard drive? It locked up my hard drive.

    ****?
