win 11 does not auto login did 2days ago no problem, all updated about same time, have tried all the suggestions, netplwiz, regitedit mods the lot, double check pc name in domain, workgroup,
as the only person on this pc was happy when it auto log on my laptop updated and auto log on no problems if i set netplwiz and uncheck users must enter password and put password in when i restart login screen come up with 2 accounts 1 with no picture as says password incorrect and the other (correct Accout) if i put pin into correct account all ok whats going on microsoft

Mike, did you go back over all the steps I gave yesterday for duplicate accounts on Log-in Screen, to make sure none were missed? This normally fixes the problem of a duplicate ghost listing on log-in screen.
Also if you use a Local Account during install does it bypass password using Netplwiz and remove the ghost listing, and if so what about waiting until those are done before converting it to a MS Account in Settings > Accounts > Your Info > Sign in with a MS Account Instead?

Also if you use a Local Account during install does it bypass password using Netplwiz and remove the ghost listing, and if so what about waiting until those are done before converting it to a MS Account in Settings > Accounts > Your Info > Sign in with a MS Account Instead? i used local when installed asked me to put in Password going through to make the account this worked ok bypassed password log on ok no problem no ghost account worked as it should. had a coffee (15min) then tried convert to MS Account no problem restarted asked for pin as i did not set up netplwiz log on set up ntplwiz restart go ghost account there did not work

i don't understand on installing win 11 with MS account it does not ask for password local account does so if you set up netplwiz which asks for a password where does the pc find the password as there is no password there
i think as there is no password it is reverting to a ghost account and areal account asking for a pin your thoughts
How about if you install with a Local Account and sign into Store, Mail, OneDrive, Xbox or any other apps you need separately? You should not lose anything this way and will be able to skip the password without the ghost account.
You can even try going into Settings > Accounts > Your Info > Sign in with a Local Account Instead. See what happens then when you try netplwiz.
Or create a new Local Admin account and move over into it, then delete the MS Account to see if it gets rid of the ghost: 3 Ways to Create Local Administrator Account in Windows 10
Rather than immediately reinstalling with a Local Account if you try the above manipulations it may give us more clues, too.
You can even try going into Settings > Accounts > Your Info > Sign in with a Local Account Instead. See what happens then when you try netplwiz. local account works tried last night
