Ethernet keeps disconnecting

So I just got a new PC, everything works smoothly, however whenever I try to plug in my ethernet, it'll connect for a random amount of time (few hours or few days) and then mysteriously it disconnects.

I try unplugging and replugging it into my PC but with no results. Only when I remove it from the router and replug it in to a different port does it finally connect, but this is only a temporary solution.

Any ideas?

Drivers don't need updating, I've already checked.

    I have the same issue here as well. I have a Microsoft Laptop 3 with a Lenovo Gigabit USB ethernet adapter. I upgraded to Win 11 2-3 months ago and I have been having this same problem. With Win 10 over the past 3 years no issues at all with the ethernet adapter.

    It has to be related to the OS, but having followed all the the advice above, except a fresh install of Win 11, the problem still persists. Is it just a coincidence this many people are having similar issues?

    I'm having the exact same issue on a brand new Lenovo (less than a week old) that came preinstalled with Windows 11 pro. I keep getting booted out of Zoom meetings because the Ethernet connection suddenly drops without warning.

    I've done all the steps suggested but I haven't gone so far as a clean install of Windows 11 since, as I said, this is a brand new computer. Is this a glitch in Windows 11 Pro that has yet to be addressed? Any other steps I might take to fix this issue?

    I am having the same problem with only Windows 11 for both Dell and Surface. Any resolution? The only thing in common is they all have Windows 11.

    I have had the same issues - it's a new machine with Windows 11. My Dell tech support person recommended reinstalling the OS; however, if it's a glitch, I don't know how that will help!

    I am having the same issue with a new Surface Pro8 running windows 11. My surface pro 4 windows 10 doesn't have the connection problem... ethernet keeps disconnecting and restarting (which destroys my VPN connection for work).

    Using the same router...

    I have also tried an old Asus lap top, no connection problems at all

    MacBook Air, no problem at all

    Surface Pro 4 Win 10, no problem at all.

    Someone in our office is also having the problem with a new Surface Pro 8
