Ethernet keeps disconnecting

So I just got a new PC, everything works smoothly, however whenever I try to plug in my ethernet, it'll connect for a random amount of time (few hours or few days) and then mysteriously it disconnects.

I try unplugging and replugging it into my PC but with no results. Only when I remove it from the router and replug it in to a different port does it finally connect, but this is only a temporary solution.

Any ideas?

Drivers don't need updating, I've already checked.

    The Windows 11 machines with the issue are mostly Lenovo T15 gen2, 1 MSI Creator 15, 1 Lenovo T490, 1 HP ENVY x360 and a couple of others that I'm probably forgetting off the top of my headf. Most of our workstations are still on Windows 10. Docks are mostly Lenovo USB-C Universal with some HP Thunderbolt docks thrown in the mix. Most of the laptops that had the issue came with Windows 11 pre-installed but the T490 was upgraded and I formatted and re-installed on a few of them. If I downgraded to Windows 10 the issue went away, if we stayed on 11 it persisted after the format. I'm running Fedora 36 (upgraded from 35) on my T15 gen2 it hasn't had any issues.

    What devices are you using? We're using mostly Surface Laptop 4 and Surfacebook 2. We do have issues with Dell Latitude 3420, but that is with the WD19S docks.

    It seems that both have worked for us. One of our users bought himself a USB-C to Ethernet adapter. Since that seemed to work I requested an order of the same model but it looks like we got Amazon Basics USB-A to Ethernet instead. Both seem to do the trick here, I deployed them to the affected users weeks ago, haven't heard any complaints about the network since. I don't know what to tell you.

    We haven't tried a USB C to Ethernet, only USB A to Ethernet. However, the USB A to Ethernet failed. Which Adapter are you using? I wondering if we're just using a cheap one, but we don't want to start buying random stuff for no reason just for testing.

    Right. I forgot that USB adapters didn't work for everyone here. They work for us, for whatever reason. Which is good since only 1 of our current laptops has a dedicated Ethernet port. Who can say whether it's the adapter, device, network or some combination, but all docking stations and laptop models here have had this issue with Windows 11. Windows 10 and Linux are unaffected.
