So I just got a new PC, everything works smoothly, however whenever I try to plug in my ethernet, it'll connect for a random amount of time (few hours or few days) and then mysteriously it disconnects.
I try unplugging and replugging it into my PC but with no results. Only when I remove it from the router and replug it in to a different port does it finally connect, but this is only a temporary solution.
Any ideas?
Drivers don't need updating, I've already checked.

Well it's looking like my solution is going to be returning the Surface Pro 8 for a refund and getting some other device. I think I'm done with the Surface tablets for good. My previous one-- Surface 4-- had the expanding battery problem and this one can't keep an ethernet connection. I hope everyone else gets their issue here solved (or maybe some day Microsoft will step in)
I also have AT&T and I know it is not my service. We have a brand new router and my husband has no issues. Wireless works fine. I am hardwired from the router to the docking station and it still disconnects.
This is a good tip if it's just one device having a problem. But in my case, and for many other users, it's only the Windows 11 device having Ethernet connectivity problems. I have multiple other computers and devices on the same Ethernet network and they have no drops. When my problem first started, I did have AT&T come out and take a look (at my fiber ISP setup). They swapped out the router and checked the box on the side of the house where the fiber comes in. No change. I also had Dell swap out my motherboard. No change. I believe this is a Windows 11 bug. In my case, one curiosity is that the Ethernet drops happen only on my home network. I gave a repair shop my laptop for 24 hours and they could not reproduce the problem. I have already swapped out all components at home (ethernet cable, ethernet port, USB ethernet adapter, etc.). It seems like my router doesn't like something about the traffic coming from my Win 11 laptop and shuts off the connection.
My wireless works fine and the ethernet port is on the Surface Pro 8 dock. My other Surface Pro 4 connects to ethernet just fine. The reason I need an ethernet connection is for my work VPN, the VPN doesn't work so well on wireless. Thanks
My other devices are not having any connection problems, this is unique to the Surface Pro 8 only and an issue with the device. Have already reinstalled drivers, ethernet adapters, etc. It's not my router or anything leading up to my router. Thanks for the suggestion.
