I know you can change the color of the outline, but I'm not certain about a way to change the thickness.
The color can be changed from Settings > Personalization > Color > Accent Color.

When using Alt+Tab is there any way to make the "selected window" line, a bit bolder or noticeable? its hard to see which one is the selected one.

Running 22H2 (Build 22621.457) from the Release Preview channel; The outline does look much better now.Reverted back to 21H2. With the release preview version, loading an image in Photos as well as a screenshot in Snipping Tool becomes really slow. Also, the display of the notifications bar is too slow.
I wonder if those are known issues.

The descriptions "Original (summer 2021)" and "summer 2022" are too vague, I am afraid.
Please, enter the "winver" command and tells us the exact version number of Windows.
I am running Version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.856) and changing the accent color does NOT affect the outline of the Alt+Tab windows, as @DannyM84 already mentioned.
The default outline is hardly visible and needs to be changed.

2022-08-12T13:42:37+00:00 The only solution at the moment is to join the preview program and get on the BETA cycle... then your updates will allow thicker and any coloured lines... MUCH better!!!
