Files have a brown box on their icon and dont open in Windows 11

What is going on here? There is no information anywhere so it obviously isnt a problem for everyone.

Most of my files stored on Dropbox now have a small brown file box icon on the lower left corner of the main icon for all MS Office files. They open perfectly well on the phone and a laptop running Windows 10 but not on my laptop running Windows 11.

I get an error message saying the program cant open it because the file is unsupported or may be corrupt.

Why the **** do they release an OS that doesn't work with their own programs??

    Once we restarted OneDrive it corrected the sync and now the icons show with the cloud and can be opended. Thanks

    Hi all.. I had the same problem... but with the OneDrive folders. Nearly all had the brown boxes.

    OneDrive said 'all files synced'.. but.. clearly something not right.

    I right-clicked the OneDrive icon in the dock and paused the sync. Then restarted the sync.. All brown boxes disappeared immediately.

    Don't know if that'll help anyone?

    What worked for me was accessing the one drive via the browser and hitting the sync option there. It started to sync everything back to the computer and it worked again.

    Hello all! I found that the update removed my DropBox. I went to the website, signed in and re-synced my files and the brown box went away
