Make sure Dropbox is running and active. It found it wasn’t starting when I restarted. The brown box files were all available when Dropbox was running. Your photos are likely still available at Dropbox.com.
Files have a brown box on their icon and dont open in Windows 11
What is going on here? There is no information anywhere so it obviously isnt a problem for everyone.
Most of my files stored on Dropbox now have a small brown file box icon on the lower left corner of the main icon for all MS Office files. They open perfectly well on the phone and a laptop running Windows 10 but not on my laptop running Windows 11.
I get an error message saying the program cant open it because the file is unsupported or may be corrupt.
Why the **** do they release an OS that doesn't work with their own programs??
Please help,
Thanks

2023-11-10T11:09:13+00:00 I had the same issue. I had recently changed my OneDrive password and so was no longer signed into OneDrive on my windows 11 laptop. In the tray icon (bottom right of the screen) the blue windows cloud had a red x on it. I clicked on this and entered my new password. It logged in and after a few minutes of "processing changes" the brown box icon disappeared and I was able to access all my files again.
