How to adjust Bass and Treble in Windows 11?

Why not try an equalizer? There are several apparently. Equalizers are either graphic or parametric. Parametric are far better for fine tuning things. I don't think Microsoft supplied any tone control, rather it was the audio driver people were using that did. I use Realtek on an older motherboard and I had a fine graphic equalizer in Win7 but when I went to Win10....POOF....gone. Same driver, no equalizer. Go figure. Makes no sense.

So hunt down a quality equalizer everyone. Its WAY better than bass and treble controls. Realize that a stand alone software equalizer is not beholden to one specific audio device. Many people use more than 1 audio device: I use 3 or 4. You may have a great equalizer bundled with one device but that won't work for the other devices that use other drivers.

One could always use a hardware equalizer. There are probably some very cheap but functional ones out of China on Ebay. Locally you can find these for about $10 at garage and thrift sales. They're very hard to sell so people almost give them away. And they draw very little electricity.

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Go to System > Sound.
3. Scroll down and click on More sound settings.
4. In the Sound settings window, select the Playback tab.
5. Right-click on your audio device and select Properties.
6. Go to the Enhancements tab.
7. Deselect the "Disable all enhancements" checkbox (if it is already selected).
8. Select the Bass Boost checkbox.
9. If you want to change the frequency and boost level of Bass, click on the Settings button on the bottom right side.
10. When you are done, click Apply and then click OK.

Hey SouthBay, thanks for the tip on "FxSound" app. Why MS didn't not include a sound bar / equalizer in WIN 11 is just plain idiotic, and the project engineer that signed off on this program should be fired. I am a project engineer, and this is one of the main requirements that I would insist be included in WIN 11. This is unbelieveable, but I downloaded "FxSound" and it works great. It doesn't much but five minutes to write a code and include it.

Two months ago I bought a pair of speakers to use for personal training so that I can hear the videos clearly, without using headphones. The FxSound app works great! Thanks again for the tip.
