How to adjust Bass and Treble in Windows 11?

There is a technical reason why the EQ "disappear".

If they give you multiple EQ, people will mistakenly enable multiple EQ at the same time and ruin their sound.

Even 10 years ago, the old "audio enhancements tab" bass boost or equalizer only appears if you use Microsoft's generic audio driver ("high definition audio device"). When you install your computer's specific audio chipset driver (such as Realtek), then the bass boost in the audio enhancements tab should disappear because you now have the EQ in the old Realtek HD audio manager. Even in Windows 7, if you have a computer model with premium audio package (such as THX and Soundblaster), the EQ in the Realtek HD audio manager disappeared.

Your sound would get all muddy if you enabled the bass boost in the enhancements tab and the EQ in the Realtek HD audio manager at the same time because you forgot that you clicked the bass boost button 6 months ago and now you are fiddling with the Realtek EQ. So the only sensible thing to do is to delete 1 of the EQ.

There can only be 1 EQ in your whole computer and that may be a traditional 10 band EQ or some smart pre-sets.

You have an HP computer, then you either have HP audio app or B&O audio app. And if you have a premium audio package on your hp computer, then you have additional auido apps.

Thank you, that's good information that a half dozen contacts with Microsoft- none knew that. As I wrote earlier, I solved my problem by getting a third-party app that installed easily and works great.

That Microsoft or Dell hide or choose to not provide an equalizer is a big disservice in my view. Folks like me with hearing loss in multiple ranges can make adjustments that make music enjoyable again. Shame neither company sees it that way- I've written to both. Crickets...

By definition, all windows 11 compatible computers will have DCH drivers which has its audio configuration done via an app downloaded from Microsoft Store.

If your Realtek audio console app (or HP audio app or Dell audio app or Waves audio app) doesn't have EQ, it means that your specific computer model has a premium audio package (such as DTS or Dolby or Nahimic) and your EQ is going to be in the premium audio app.

If the premium audio app doesn't have the traditional 10 band EQ, it means that your computer maker decides not to give you a traditional 10 band EQ. Instead it gives you some smart EQ pre-sets. So when you pick the movie pre-set, it automatically EQ your audio to enhance movie dialogs. When you pick the gaming pre-set, it automatically EQ your audio to enhance explosions.

Same problem here. Deaf in one ear, barely hear out of the other. Very frustrating and seems it would be an accessibility issue that MS dropped the ball on. HELLO Microsoft, there are hearing impaired users that NEED to be able to adjust bass down and treble up (in most cases) to be able to understand what is being said!

Same problem here. Deaf in one ear, barely hear out of the other. Very frustrating and seems it would be an accessibility issue that MS dropped the ball on. HELLO Microsoft, there are hearing impaired users that NEED to be able to adjust bass down and treble up (in most cases) to be able to understand what is being said!
