Find network access credentials windows 10 or 11

I've been running my local (wired) network with password protected sharing turned off.

To reduce the risk of infection I've now turned it on on all the pc's.

The result is that I am now unable to access any of the machines on the network (running windows 10 or 11)

I need to input the username and password

However using whoami locally to get the username, and entering the pin as the password I get

"the username or password is incorrect"

trying to access another machine I get "\XXXXX is not accessible. ... etc."

Is there a simple way I can turn on machine A and determine what credentials are required to access it from another PC via the network?

    t sounds like there is quite a history here. I added a 3rd pc to my network to replace one the older ones. In the mean time I need to copy and transfer files around the club. Sometimes a computer is not even visible to another computer, sometimes it wants credentials, other times is happy to be here. My wife and I have separate users accounts and she can see a computer that I CANNOT see. I am interested in the use of the phone number. What format does that have to be?

    Would it be useful to clear all credentials and reset the network from each one?

    There are some references to a credential vault, but I cannot find it;

    I am running out of scotch.
