I cannot create a minecraft java profile name

Same problem here today in all browsers.

Disabled my always on VPN ( Express VPN) and tried again. Voila done.

I have the same issue and the browser console is showing this error:

Access to fetch at 'https://api.minecraftservices.com/minecraft/profile' from origin 'https://www.minecraft.net' has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. If an opaque response serves your needs, set the request's mode to 'no-cors' to fetch the resource with CORS disabled.

Seems like this would be a simple fix for the Minecraft team- just add the Access-Control-Allow-Origin header to your API response.

Any idea when this will be fixed?

I spoke with a Minecraft Support worker who suggested I go to the link through a browser on my phone and create my username there. Once I did that, I went back to my PC and it had saved it under my Minecraft account, both online and on the Minecraft Launcher. From there on, it downloaded and it completely installed.

I believe it is a desktop issue at the moment, but hope this helps anyone else dealing with the same issue!

I had the exact same problem a few days ago. Later that day I tried again and it was fine. So I guess it just needs a bit of patience.

My boyfriend just bought the game and is having the same issue, any luck yet?
