Windows 11 - Microphone icon in system tray

Hello.

I was wondering, is there any way to completely get rid of the microphone icon on the system tray without including adding it onto the "Show hidden icons"?

It's really annoying having that.

    This issue also comes up if motherboard apps are pre-installed or have been installed out of recommendation, espesically one catered towards gaming. My TUF motherboard, for example, has an AI noise cancelling engine that starts by default. Simply uninstalling it stopped it popping up. However for any mic activity it will still pop up, gets pretty annoying.

    I am not concerned about the 'security' of my microphone when it comes to icons being an eyesore. I've installed third-party appearance applications and I prefer to not let Microsoft ruin the presentation out of concern for my security. I'm sure some people would like its presence, however it's far better to enable people to have the decision whenever they would like the extra step of safety. In this case, I would very much not have it.

    So I have my mic on all the time because of my settup (voicemetter) so if a virus takes control it I STILL CANT **** SEE BECAUSE I SEE IT ALL THE TIME ANYWAY??? SO whats the point???? And other spous should know better and use a different computer or user account. Why I have to keep this **** on my personal computer which I use alone anway? Know why? Because my partner has one too. xD

    I am sorry, but that is not a valid reason. If you are stupid enough to download some pirated software that is your choice. Isn't Microsoft Defender suppose to help notify us of this situation. Microsoft would be better off providing some kind of notification of this scenario versus showing the stupid microphone icon that is not needed.

    My icon is visible even if I use audio headphones that does not have microphone. I don't want to see this icon.

    I have no wife and I don't download pirated software

    Well imho you're the one that completely missed the point of this thread.

    There people (like me) that use applications (for instance Voicemeeter) which uses the mic 24/7 and just be annoyed by the icon. Nobody mentioned to secretly record somebody. Therefore I put these sentences in big fonts.

    Windows 10 made it possible to hide the icon so why did MS remove it?

    PS: Stop accusing people of crimes because it's also illegal ;)
