I had the same issue for a long of time. The only solution for this by now is deleting the device from your system, rebooting. Win 11 reinstalls the device once again and this Icon disappears from you desktop. + win 23 update was installed.

Hello.
I was wondering, is there any way to completely get rid of the microphone icon on the system tray without including adding it onto the "Show hidden icons"?
It's really annoying having that.

2023-10-02T17:58:03+00:00 I recently had the microphone icon appear on my system tray as well, but after installing the Windows Update, 2023-09 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5030310) the icon was no longer there.
So try and do a Windows Update to see if it removes the icon.

You will also see that a bunch of people posting about “Your webcam is currently being used by another Application” error. Well some app used the webcam and not released it correctly.
There are simpler explanations that just complaining.
