BSOD after trying to install a game from the Xbox application

Hi there,

I made a quick search and I can tell other people around the world (I'm French) are having the same problem.

Happened first when I tried installing the Guardians of the galaxy game from the Gamepass section.

Precision : My games are stored on an internal SSD.

Had a first BSOD with the error code "Thread system exception not handled"

Went into safe boot trying to investigate this. Whocrashed showed it was related to the system driver "ftlmgr.exe"

I then uninstalled my anti-virus, as I read it was often related to this and rebooted.

BSOD again.

Went to safe boot again, running a sfc scannow and dsim => Got no effect.

So after an evening of self-infliged hairpulling, I dropped my PC at a professional's store.

The guy then told me my system SSD (not the one containing my games) was unstable, cloned the disk and installed a new one with a fresh Windows installation.

I happily brought my PC back home, trying to get my games detected by the Xbox App (without success BTW) and the same BSOD error code was back.

I went in safe boot again, with my internet connection off and it didn't crash before I reactivated it.

Looks like something's running globally because as I said, I found many recent threads about this exact problem

Does someone have any intel about it and/or a fix ?

    I applied the procedure. The Microsoft store update and the game still won't install

    My hypothesis is that the Microsoft Store not being up to date, it prevents the game installation. What do you think ?

    Can you provide the following information which may help determine any issue(s):

    Windows Key + R > type msinfo32 in the "Open" box > OK > File > Save > then save as an .nfo file

    Then make the resulting .nfo file available via a public folder on OneDrive or similar site.

    Also, can you do the following:

    Windows Key + R > type eventvwr in the "Open" box > OK > expand "Custom Views" and then right-click "Administrative Events" > select "Save all events in Custom View As" and save as an .evtx file

    Then make the resulting .evtx file available via a public folder on OneDrive or similar site.

    There is this repetitive warning in the Event System Log:

    DistributedCOM - The propres à l’application permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID 

    {37399C92-DC3F-4B55-AE5B-811EE82398AD}

     and APPID 

    {37399C92-DC3F-4B55-AE5B-811EE82398AD}

     to the user DESKTOP-6CVASR8\Win10 SID (S-1-5-21-3464607644-1415017556-3079934586-1001) from address LocalHost (avec LRPC) running in the application containerMicrosoft.GamingApp_2202.1001.9.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe SID (S-1-15-2-1723189366-2159580849-2248400763-1481059666-1951766778-2756563051-3565589001). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

    That seems to indicate an issue with permissions.

    There are also several errors concerning ZoneAlarm so can you temporarily uninstall ZoneAlarm, as it may be affecting the installations, and see if the issue persists.

    There are other applications such as Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.2.2 which are also failing with the 0x80073D02 error.

    The troubleshooting from your link coulnd't find any issue (no option related to the Microsoft Store or the gaming services).

    Could you guide me through with the Component Services tool ? I took a look but don't know what to do exactly.
