KB5005033 August 2021 cumulative update

I don't seem to have this cab file anywhere in my Windows folder or my C: drive. The Windows Update Catalogue only has the MSU file to download.

I was rereading the uninstall notes and it now seems to say you can only remove the LCU and not the SSU, which is what I thought I read originally:

If you want to remove the LCU

To remove the LCU after installing the combined SSU and LCU package, use the DISM/Remove-Package command line option with the LCU package name as the argument. You can find the package name by using this command: DISM /online /get-packages.

Running Windows Update Standalone Installer (wusa.exe) with the /uninstallswitch on the combined package will not work because the combined package contains the SSU. You cannot remove the SSU from the system after installation.

Ok, I might have read it that way because previous packages could be removed that way. Sorry..

2021-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H1 for x64-based Systems (KB5005033) for me its freezing my pc up trying to install it for days now my disk is pegged at 100% usage in task manager performance tab but only 20% in the process tab, i also noticed that in process tab defender and this windows module installer worker are at the top of disk used constantly going from high to very high in the red as if they are fighting another to get it installed or something.

it took a whole day to get 100 % downloaded, another day to get to 100% installed, but it never finished and now its back at 21% installing, not sure what to do here.

Not at all. Thanks for all your help. I certainly learned some new things about these updates. Looks like they push these every month so hopefully they will fix it soon. If not I'll have to see what my other options are. Maybe a Windows reinstall.
