KB5005033 August 2021 cumulative update

my Laptop Dell Inspiron 5559 has stopped being a touchscreen because of microsoft updates last year. I've been trying to get the function back since last year. I am looking for KB3081436 and KB3081424 and cannot seem to find the link to download... HELP!!!!!!!!

OK. Just a comment if anyone is listening. (blank) your KB5005033. I have numerous entries in update history of " failed to install". Everyday it tries again and when it does my laptop slows to a crawl. Been this way now for a month. I'm 67 raising 2 grandchildren but also have a comp sci degree so when I have the time I'll try to implement some of the fixes I am finding. BUT, even though these forums have very knowledgeable people trying to help and that is appreciated, there are many more other people in the REAL world that aren't computer savvy. So even though I understand moving or renaming files, changing folders, creating yada yada yada, like most people in the REAL world, ...I DON'T HAVE THE $%#@^ TIME TO WORRY ABOUT IT. THAT'S YOUR JOB!!!!! So fix this thing and let's get on with life. We have a virus out there and many people are having to do virtual school at home to keep their kids safe, I am.

Update 8/22/21: Just got through with the top 5 methods and nothing has fixed the problem. SFC found no problems with the file integrity. Only difference is now I have download.old folder and a download folder in c:\windows\softwaredistribution. Just going to have to live with this. Don't have the time to mess with this. Best of luck to all of you.

Update 8/29/21: Decided to try one more time. Did the clear softwaredistribution folder/run sfc/run dism thing. Still won't install. In fact, now everytime it tries to install and then fails, I have to have troubleshooter reinstall my audio drivers. What the **** is in this thing? I have read all over the internet that even some pc's systems have been rendered unusable and the entire OS has to be reinstalled. If you are touting Windows As A Service, then you need a better service department. Rest assured if I find the problem here, I will post the cure, not for your sake, but for those of us who have had to endure this.

Can you access Fault Tolerance Mode:

Then run in that mode

Type DISM.exe / Online / Cleanup-image / Restorehealth (note that each slash is preceded by a space.) And press Enter. (Note: this step may take a few minutes to start and may take up to 30 minutes to complete.)

When you see the message "Operation completed successfully", type sfc / scannow and press Enter.  

4. Also, I suggest you run this in the same mode .: chkdsk /r

Enter That Question Y So the next time you restart, start that hard drive scan / repair.

This is when the unit has been used for a long time with the same hardness and may have teases / cleaning to speed up the unit.

WHEN they have gone through the end type: exit

Then restart your machine. Your device will then begin scanning your hard drive.
