    Hi Mr. Mcclelland! You have just saved my day! Ugh, I can't believe I didn't even think to check the device manager! I had gotten too comfortable just switching to my laptop as a medium term backup solution.

    Hello

    Can you access Fault Tolerance Mode:

    Then run in that mode

    Type DISM.exe / Online / Cleanup-image / Restorehealth (note that each slash is preceded by a space.) And press Enter. (Note: this step may take a few minutes to start and may take up to 30 minutes to complete.) 

    When you see the message "Operation completed successfully", type sfc / scannow and press Enter.
    1. Also, I suggest you run this in the same mode .: chkdsk /r

    Enter That Question Y So the next time you restart, start that hard drive scan / repair.

    This is when the unit has been used for a long time with the same hardness and may have teases / cleaning to speed up the unit.

    WHEN they have gone through the end type: exit

    Then restart your machine. Your device will then begin scanning your hard drive.

    Defenner which is a basic security program that must be alive. So MS Security Updates are important Like. The Windows software above also assumes that it has been updated and new windows such as Windows Malware Removal Update. So those updates will settle down properly. "However, if you have a 3-party virus protection program, keep Defenner up to date."

    I have a desktop and a laptop. Action Center wouldn't stay open on either machine after this update. On both machines, I did:

    • Settings
    • Update & Security
    • View update history
    • Uninstall updates

    This lands you in the "Uninstall an update" detail. I selected the update then clicked "Uninstall". After the machines rebooted, the update no longer appeared in the "Uninstall an update" detail, but still appears in "View update history". This routine cured Action Center on my desktop, but not on my laptop.
