"This comment does not meet community guidelines" - so annoying!

They've been trialing different things. For awhile the comments were "under review" then it changed to something coming up saying didn't meet the guildlines, then they changed it to "something went wrong" instead of letting you know it didn't meet guidelines and was under review. Now the newest thing is that it you will simply just literally not be able to post the comment at all. It will just sit there. This newer thing is even more aggravating. No doubt they changed it to that in the hopes that there will be less complaining that there was with "under review " and "something went wrong But no this is even more irritating. You can just push the button forever now and the comment doesn't go through but there is no comment.

Interesting that this help forum was coded differently and here the only two words that the bots seem to forbit are the names of the current president of the USA and of the former president of the USA.

I tried posting, "There's a very pretty rickshaw puller in Tokyo who used to be an Olympian athlete. She was applauded in Japan for her tenacity and endurance during the pandemic."

It was blocked.

OMG at first I assumed your comment got blocked because you mentioned the pandemic but when I tested looks like it got blocked for mentioning Japan. Whoever coded the bots was so full of bigotry You can't use the words sexist, racist, or misogyny. Those words are all blocked. So you can't comment on articles that deal on those issujes. The person coding was with the alt-right I think.

What about those words that are spelled and sound exactly alike, yet they have two different meanings? Like bear, post, cut, weed, fly .... just an infinite number of words. Can't the bots decipher this? Dog can indicate an animal, or I could be disrespecting someone. This is the fallacy of the English language

I figure it's one of two things - they have a compiled list of phrases and words they blacklisted regardless of the reasonableness of the comment, and so it doesn't matter what was said. It is what it is and that's all that it is. No debate. Guilty as charged. No trial of evidence.
The other is that there is actual monitored content that some "moderators" don't like out of ideological preference and prejudices that they willingly block even if it is a justifiable comment that really does meet the guidelines. And if that is the case, then certain people are flagged perpetually because they comment in ways that don't agree with the moderator's opinions. Even if it is a reasonable point. No challenge available. Very reminiscent of some historical picture of people secretly listening in to conversations and profiling people who say questionable things.

Sometimes I don't even get a 'Something went wrong' message. I hit enter and literally nothing happens. It's not until I change a word that I get one of the messages that tells me it's not been posted. They must have half the words in the dictionary banned by now.
